A note on the Amazon ads: I've chosen to display current events titles in the Amazon box. Unfortunately, Amazon appears to promote a disproportionate number of angry-left books. I have no power over it at this time. Rest assured, I'm still a conservative.

Disgusting: I must confess that my blood pressure's been rising steadily all day as I've read some of the insanity coming mostly from the left in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Let's start with the right. Proving that politics is not a line, but a circle, we have Repent America claiming that Hurricane Katrina was God's judgement on New Orleans.

Just days before "Southern Decadence", an annual homosexual celebration attracting tens of thousands of people to the French Quarters section of New Orleans, Hurricane Katrina destroys the city.

I believe that God is all powerful. If he really wanted to punish New Orleans and homosexuals for their behavior by sending Katrina their way, then I think he would've waited until he got all the gays into the city before he wiped it out.

Just a hop, skip and jump away on the political circle is the Nation of Islam's Louis Farrakhan.

"New Orleans is the first of the cities going to tumble down... unless America changes its course," Farrakhan said.

"It is the wickedness of the people of America and the government of America that is bringing the wrath of God down," he told several hundred people at Tinsley Temple United Methodist Church.

Someone explain to me again why a Methodist church would allow Farrakhan to speak there?

Moving to talk radio, you've got Air America's Randi Rhodes demonstrating that deep down she's a truly ugly and disgusting person.

"This President is never gonna do the right thing. I think somewhere deep down inside him he takes a lot of joy about losing people, if he thinks they vote Democrat or if he thinks they're poor, or if he thinks they're in a blue state, whatever his reasons are not to rescue those people who are (planning?) for their safety."

Yeah, President Bush hates poor people. Would somebody please hit her with a clue-by-four? Talk about being a taco short of a combination plate.

Finally, you've got a loser over at The Brad Blog named Joseph Cannon with this bit of advice/insight.

A large part of me still believes that many of these W-worshipping numbskulls deserve to suffer and to die. They brought it on themselves. Let them look to Jayzuss for aid: It's time they stopped leeching off the more productive blue staters.

Can't you just feel the hate? These people are just unhinged -- and every indication is that they are the heart and soul of the Democrat Party.

Chrenkoff has a round-up of some other despicable bile. Check it out if you can stomach it. I've had enough.

Comments:
This disaster has shown that, neither the left nor the right, neither Republicans nor Democrats, neither federal nor state and local officials were prepared for an event that had been predicted for years and known about 3 days in advance. Maybe we should have used some of the pork--bridges and roads to nowhere--to better prepare for disasters. I doubt we will ever learn. The terrorists must be encouraged by our response to this disaster.

Troll go home.

Last I checked Louisiana was a red state. I almost feel sorry for these people who see what happened in New Orleans and their hatred for Bush, not their compassion for their fellow Americans, controls their emotions.

Bush can't win. If he ran to the area, curled his bottom lip and pantiomimed crying and being upset, these same critics would say he is exploiting the tragedy trying to get his low approval ratings back up.

New Orleans has been corrupt a long time, with piss-poor leadership and 10 times the national crime rate. That is the biggest reason why this has gotten out of hand.
