Still no plan: The banner has once again been updated because, while New York Times columnist Paul Krugman decided to use his Monday column space to address Social Security, it was merely to defend the status quo. Don't believe your own knowledge or common sense, there's apparently nothing wrong with Social Security that a big tax increase won't fix, according to Krugman.

C'mon, be fair, Krugman gave his plan for Social Security in his recent roundabout with Hubbard and Peterson in Harper's...

"KRUGMAN: I think we tinker at the edges with the benefits..."

... and increase federal taxes by 50%, to 28% of GDP.

Ok, admittedly Harper's isn't the NY Times, where the promise was made -- but how's he supposed to fill a 700-word column with that?
