A note on the Amazon ads: I've chosen to display current events titles in the Amazon box. Unfortunately, Amazon appears to promote a disproportionate number of angry-left books. I have no power over it at this time. Rest assured, I'm still a conservative.

Our friends the Saudis: Today's Washington Post has an article showing that "memorial" Web sites of jihadis in Iraq list a majority of Saudis -- many of them college students or from wealthy families.

This tells us a couple of things.

First, the complaints by much of the American and European left that the hatred of America is due to poverty or a lack of positive/productive life opportunities is a bunch of hooey. As the Powerline guys have noted, they come from a culture that glorifies and celebrates death above all else.

Second, it tells us the Saudis still aren't serious about reforming their society and cracking down on the Wahabbi/jihadi culture that they not only cultivate within Saudi Arabia, but that they also export around the world.
