Merry Christmas!: Today is the day that we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday.

Here are a couple of things that are worth reading before you gorge yourself on eggnog.

First, there's this letter from a soldier in Iraq who met Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld on his Christmas Eve trip. Read it, because you won't find anything like it in your morning paper.

Second, something you might find in your morning paper, is this column by George Will. (I highlighted some of the same things Will did in this post earlier this year.)
