A note on the Amazon ads: I've chosen to display current events titles in the Amazon box. Unfortunately, Amazon appears to promote a disproportionate number of angry-left books. I have no power over it at this time. Rest assured, I'm still a conservative.
Friday, September 24, 2004 The mystery of computers: I just added the Fahrenhype 9/11 documentary due out next month to my Netflix.com rental queue.
If a human can explain the connection, I'd be interested to do know what it is.
Having worked with a lot of databases, I can only come up with 2 conclusions.
1. Some human puts in flags on every one of the movies and these two share some kind of flag. (e.g. /Raiders of the Lost Ark/ and /Tomb Raider/ might share a flag for something like "archeological adventure".)
2. The database builds links between movies based on pervious human behavior. People who picked one, also picked the other.
Well, I don't understand it either, but feeding both Moore's and Jeremy's names together to Google... like so... http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=%22Michael+moore%22+%22ron+Jeremy%22&spell=1
... gives us 2100 hits.(!)
One of which was most interesting.... http://www.newvideo.com/docuramacategories.html?categoryid=3&sortid=2
Apparently the connection is that they're both listed as documentaries.
