A note on the Amazon ads: I've chosen to display current events titles in the Amazon box. Unfortunately, Amazon appears to promote a disproportionate number of angry-left books. I have no power over it at this time. Rest assured, I'm still a conservative.

My mother tortured me: I know it's a day after Mother's Day and all. But I'm watching CNN and some talking head is describing how torture at places like Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq start out with seemingly minor things and escalate.

Psychologist Philip Zimbardo described one of the tortures:

...had them clean toilet bowls out with their bare hands...

When I was younger, one of my chores was cleaning the bathroom. My mother forced me to clean toilet bowls, but never provided me with those rubber gloves.

Oh, the torture. The second the shrink mentioned it, I realized that I suffer from post-traumatic stress because of the toilet bowl. Oh, the horror. What's the statute of limitations on toilet bowl torture?
