A note on the Amazon ads: I've chosen to display current events titles in the Amazon box. Unfortunately, Amazon appears to promote a disproportionate number of angry-left books. I have no power over it at this time. Rest assured, I'm still a conservative.

Nine dwarfs debate: I'm watching a replay of today's Democrat presidential candidate debate -- and it isn't pretty. It's become obvious to me why these forums are increasingly useless; if you're looking for truth, you won't find it in the debates. Some of these loons are making statements which are demonstrably false and no one -- not the questioners or the other candidates -- calls them on it.
For example: Rep. Dennis Kucinich (Very Silly Party) says with a straight face that a steelworker making $40,000 a year has the same tax burden as someone making $400,000 a year.
Politicians are bad with numbers, but this is ridiculous.
The voters are far better informed when these candidates show up on programs like Tim Russert's "Meet the Press" where they are challenged and their lies and misstatements are exposed.
