Counting the votes: Over at SoundPolitics.com, Stefan Sharkansky has some interesting photos on how voter intent is divined in Democrat-controlled King County, Washington. If you were still wondering why Republicans were concerned about a lack of consistent rules in determining voter intent during the 2000 Florida recount, then what King County is doing -- in a situation where there are no close races -- is a powerful illustration.
I continue to be befuddled at the failure of the Seattle Times and Post-Intelligencer's failures to do their public duty and watchdog the King County elections department. There is a Pulitzer Prize in there, but they don't seem to want it because it would probably reveal Gov. Christine Gregoire to be fraudulently elected and potentially shake the Democrats hold on power in Washington's most populous county.
