A note on the Amazon ads: I've chosen to display current events titles in the Amazon box. Unfortunately, Amazon appears to promote a disproportionate number of angry-left books. I have no power over it at this time. Rest assured, I'm still a conservative.

More on Miers: I've just gotten finished watching brief clips on the news from various liberals/Democrats commenting on the withdrawl of Harriet Miers for consideration for the Supreme Court.

Ralph Neas, Harry Reid, Ted Kennedy and Chuck Schumer all went before cameras to bemoan Miers' fate at the hands of the "extreme right wing."

They demonstrated their political skills by maintaining a straight face through it all.

They were never going to vote for Miers in the first place (except for Neas, who doesn't have a vote of his own)! If Miers had stayed in the fray until her confirmation hearing, then these guys would have been ripping into her too. Remember, Miers was allegedly pro-life -- and that is enough to get half the Democrats against you even if you are replacing a pro-life justice (see Roberts, John).
