A note on the Amazon ads: I've chosen to display current events titles in the Amazon box. Unfortunately, Amazon appears to promote a disproportionate number of angry-left books. I have no power over it at this time. Rest assured, I'm still a conservative.

George Will's upcoming column: There's been some buzz hither and yon about Washington Post columnist George F. Will's column due out this Sunday. It's strictly embargoed, so I can't link to it or post it just yet, but it's a devastating critique of the Harriet Miers nomination. I won't attempt to steal Will's thunder, but he did make one point in passing that I'd like to highlight.

Will notes that Miers presumptively starts out with 22 "no" votes. Why? Because the 22 Democrat senators who voted against Chief Justice John Roberts will be the laughingstock of America if they voted against Roberts and then go and vote for Miers.
