A note on the Amazon ads: I've chosen to display current events titles in the Amazon box. Unfortunately, Amazon appears to promote a disproportionate number of angry-left books. I have no power over it at this time. Rest assured, I'm still a conservative.

Dumb: Sen. Arlen Specter (Faux R-Penn.) has suggested that President Bush delay replacing Sandra Day O'Connor on the Supreme Court until Democrats have a chance to grandstand closer to the 2006 midterm elections.

Specter said the delay would give Congress and the rest of America more time to know John Roberts as chief justice. ``When we know a little more about Judge Roberts it's going to be easier with the next'' nomination, Specter said.

So, if Roberts turns out to be more conservative than Specter expects, he'll demand what exactly? This just in: Bush won the 2004 election. He gets to pick judges for the courts.

It's times like this that you realize it would've been nice had Sen. Rick Santorum and President Bush campaigned for Pat Toomey in last year's GOP primary in Pennsylvania.
