Amazon Honor System Click Here to Pay Learn More

A note on the Amazon ads: I've chosen to display current events titles in the Amazon box. Unfortunately, Amazon appears to promote a disproportionate number of angry-left books. I have no power over it at this time. Rest assured, I'm still a conservative.

This won't make the evening news: Maybe if she camped out in Crawford, then she'd make it onto the Big 3 networks, but then again, probably not.

The mother of a Marine killed in Iraq urged mourners Wednesday not to let their anger and sadness turn them against the U.S. fight in Iraq.

"Honor me in this way," Kathy Dyer said during a memorial service for Lance Cpl. Christopher J. Dyer, 19, of the Cincinnati suburb of Evendale.

At the funeral at Tri-County Baptist Church, Kathy Dyer delivered what she believed would have been her son's own message: "It has been with the greatest pride I have served ... fighting to preserve freedom."

She said he would want mourners to continue supporting the troops in the war against terrorism.

Just makes you wonder if Maureen Dowd considers Kathy Dyer's moral authority "absolute."

I found out about this story by clicking on a small link about stories related to the "campout" on MSN. Although the story was there it was hard to find, even if you are looking for it. It's amazing how much press the anti-war mom has been getting compared to the one who supports the war. I wonder if Maureen Dowd has stopped to wonder at all what her son would have wanted??
