A note on the Amazon ads: I've chosen to display current events titles in the Amazon box. Unfortunately, Amazon appears to promote a disproportionate number of angry-left books. I have no power over it at this time. Rest assured, I'm still a conservative.
Monday, August 15, 2005 Maureen Dowd and moral authority: Last week I took a swing at New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd's saintification of the loony liberal left's favorite mom, Cindy Sheehan.
It should come as little surprise that it only takes a few days for bloggers to turn Dowd's moral authority back on her.
It also comes as little surprise that most of the mainstream media continues to soft-peddle just how far out in left field Sheehan's views are. The fact that journalists are still hanging on Sheehan's every word just goes to show that the silly season is in full swing.

Comments:
Hitchens had the last word on it, in my opinion. Wish I could get the URL, but I think it was in SLATE.
I wish somebody could explain to me that inane comment of Dowd's. It simply makes no sense whatsoever, at least to me.
What CAN be understood is Ayn Rand's statement that emotions are not a tool of cognition.
What CAN be understood is Scrappleface's satirical statement that Mrs. Sheehan's vigil "...has focused national attention on the ability of the news media to focus national attention on Mrs. Sheehan".
What CAN be understood is that the only "absolute moral authority" is God.
