A note on the Amazon ads: I've chosen to display current events titles in the Amazon box. Unfortunately, Amazon appears to promote a disproportionate number of angry-left books. I have no power over it at this time. Rest assured, I'm still a conservative.

San Diego votes: The results of yesterday's election are in and Councilwoman Donna Frye will likely lose to former police chief Jerry Sanders in November. San Diego is a Republican town, and Frye was the only Democrat running -- it's unlikely that third-place finisher Steve Francis' supporters will go to Frye.
Proposition A, which would transfer the Mt. Soledad cross to the federal government, got more than 75 percent of the vote. The measure needed 2/3 to pass. While the vote doesn't guarantee that the cross will stay, it transfers the legal battle (and the associated costs) from the cash-strapped city to the cash-strapped feds.
