Amazon Honor System Click Here to Pay Learn More

A note on the Amazon ads: I've chosen to display current events titles in the Amazon box. Unfortunately, Amazon appears to promote a disproportionate number of angry-left books. I have no power over it at this time. Rest assured, I'm still a conservative.

Oh, they don't mean it literally: Thanks to actor/reporter Sean Penn, I'm relieved to discover that the radical Muslim ruling minority in Iran isn't really serious about that "Death to America" thing.

But he told a film student during a visit to Iran's Film Museum in Tehran on Monday that the "Death to America" slogan chanted each week at Friday Prayers hurt Iran-U.S. relations.

"I understand the nature of where it comes from and what its intention is," he said. "But I don't think it's productive because I think the message goes to the American people and it is interpreted very literally."

No, really?

Comments:
Wouldn't it be great for the Iranian government to use Penn as a pawn?

Let's think about this for a sec...Penn holds court with Iran's leaders and they tell Penn to go home and hold court with Bush to present Iran's list of grievances. However, upon his return, Penn is denied the opportunity to meet with the Prez. HA!

Funny thing is, Iran is laughing too because a great "American idol" really isn't as great as he thinks he is.

As an aside, the next time you hear the word "enlightened," substitute the words "full of shit" for it and oddly enough, whatever the topic was, it still makes sense.
