A note on the Amazon ads: I've chosen to display current events titles in the Amazon box. Unfortunately, Amazon appears to promote a disproportionate number of angry-left books. I have no power over it at this time. Rest assured, I'm still a conservative.

Caltrans gets it right: After sitting in traffic for ages in the middle of the night last night as Caltrans worked on a portion of the I-15 -- work that is supposed to continue all week -- they did something smart tonight. After having traffic backed up for nearly a mile and an hour, they opened the carpool lanes to all traffic -- which let you bypass the construction backup completely. They should've done this the first night -- and I'm sure that there are other occasions when they could've alleviated the late-night traffic mess by opening these same lanes.
