Amazon Honor System Click Here to Pay Learn More

A note on the Amazon ads: I've chosen to display current events titles in the Amazon box. Unfortunately, Amazon appears to promote a disproportionate number of angry-left books. I have no power over it at this time. Rest assured, I'm still a conservative.

Pulling a Microsoft: So, I needed to do a fresh install of Quicktime on my computer. If you go to Apple's Web site and want to install Quicktime for Windows XP or 2000, then the only option that is given to you is to install Quicktime with iTunes. Of course, you can immediately go back and uninstall only iTunes -- but this seems like the sort of "bundling" that got Microsoft in so much trouble.

Comments:
Why would offering two free items be illegal?

It would be illegal if Apple reached the point where such behavior was monopolistic. Microsoft got slapped with fines and lawsuits for including things like a disk defragmenter in Windows for free -- running other companies that sold them as a standalone item out of business. So, now there's no competition among companies for standalone disk defragmenters and Microsoft can jack up the price of Windows by a buck because it includes a disk-defragmeter.
