A note on the Amazon ads: I've chosen to display current events titles in the Amazon box. Unfortunately, Amazon appears to promote a disproportionate number of angry-left books. I have no power over it at this time. Rest assured, I'm still a conservative.

Excuse me while I recover from my heart attack: The Los Angeles Times editorial page comes out in support of the "nuclear option."

Let's give credit where credit is due. Unlike some other newspapers, the Times is taking a principled stance, not a partisan one, and they should be commended for it.

Comments:
Good for Kinsley, but I'm really weary of the argument that Republicans should oppose the "nuclear option" because then they'd be unable to filibuster nominees by a future Democrat president in a Dem. majority Senate. Does anyone think that in such a case the Dem. majority would refrain from changing the rules to prohibit filibusters? For goodness sake, Harkin, Kennedy, Kerry, et al. tried it just a decade ago.
