A note on the Amazon ads: I've chosen to display current events titles in the Amazon box. Unfortunately, Amazon appears to promote a disproportionate number of angry-left books. I have no power over it at this time. Rest assured, I'm still a conservative.
Monday, January 03, 2005 Just what we need: One of the sillier new laws that the California nanny state has passed requires people to turn on their lights if they're using their windshield wipers.
This law was brought to us courtesy of state legislator Joe Simitian's "It Ought to be a Law" contest. The only thing sillier than this law itself is the fact that we got it through a stupid contest.

I've been driving with my headlights on, day and night, sun - rain - snow - fog, since the 1960's, when Mercedes published research that those cars were more visible to on-coming traffic.
Silly to have to make it a law, though, I agree.
You could use Rain-X and then not have to use your wipers ....
I have long thought that it was silly that it was not a law in ca. I lived in Minnesota (which has had a similar law for some time) for two years, and thought it was very sensable. Or is it -ible? Whatever, I'm too lazy to spell check.
I'm also too lazy to log in to blogger. This is KR15.
