A note on the Amazon ads: I've chosen to display current events titles in the Amazon box. Unfortunately, Amazon appears to promote a disproportionate number of angry-left books. I have no power over it at this time. Rest assured, I'm still a conservative.

CBS mending fences?: Broadcasting & Cable is reporting an effort by CBS News to try to convince the White House that it is not a subsidiary of the Democratic Party.

Heyward was “working overtime to convince Bartlett that neither CBS News nor Rather had a vendetta against the White House,” our source says, “and from here on out would do everything it could to be fair and balanced.” CBS declined to comment.

From "here on out"? Talk about too little too late. It'd be nice if CBS tried to be fair and balanced while the campaign was going on. Besides, that such a statement is a tacit admission that Bernie Goldberg's charges of institutional bias at CBS is true.

Still no word on when the forged documents report will be coming out. So much for the "weeks, not months" promise from CBS executives.

I hope CBS doesn't try to be "Fair and Balanced" like Faux News. Mr. Wonderful
