A note on the Amazon ads: I've chosen to display current events titles in the Amazon box. Unfortunately, Amazon appears to promote a disproportionate number of angry-left books. I have no power over it at this time. Rest assured, I'm still a conservative.

The case of the dumb administrator: The idiot of the day is the principal of Westminster High School in Westminster, Md. Curiously, the principal isn't named in the story.

Apparently it is the policy of the school that when there is a fire everyone is to evacuate the building -- except the two students who are in wheelchairs. They get to wait at the second-floor stairwell for firefighters to rescue them.

Robin, Cassie and Tom all said they think the common sense solution is move their kids' classes to the first floor. They said they were told the second floor is best because it's closer to the lunchroom and therefore more convenient.

"He won't be late for lunch, but he'll burn if there's a fire," Robin said.

That's a reasonable solution, but there's another one.

This is a high school. They've got big, strong football players. Figure it out.
