A note on the Amazon ads: I've chosen to display current events titles in the Amazon box. Unfortunately, Amazon appears to promote a disproportionate number of angry-left books. I have no power over it at this time. Rest assured, I'm still a conservative.
Sunday, December 26, 2004 RIP: Reggie White died this morning at the much too young age of 43. White was undoubtedly a great football player, but he was a far better human being. Today's sports pages are too often are less about the outcome of the big game than what happened in courtrooms across the country. White wasn't one of those athletes. He was probably known as much for his good deeds off the field as he was for his punishing sacks on it.
While we mourn his passing, Reggie spent the day with his Lord and Savior -- for that we are grateful.
It never ceases to amaze me how people become saints the moment they die. The speech White gave to the Wisconsin legislature was repugnant, especially coming from an alleged man of God. While Reggie sat in judgement of homosexuals, any real christian would know that it is not their job to judge, it is Gods. He was so sanctimonious about the episode that he couldn't even apologize... he blamed the media. Definitely NOT what Jesus would do.
