Amazon Honor System Click Here to Pay Learn More

A note on the Amazon ads: I've chosen to display current events titles in the Amazon box. Unfortunately, Amazon appears to promote a disproportionate number of angry-left books. I have no power over it at this time. Rest assured, I'm still a conservative.

The mess in Washington state: It looks as though Washington state has a new governor. After two machine recounts failed to give Democrat Christine Gregoire a victory, a statewide hand recount has reportedly allowed Democrats to keep hold of the statehouse.

The Democrats quickly claimed victory.

It should be noted that when Republican Dino Rossi won the first count by only 261 votes, that Democrats called it a "tie."

Again, when Rossi won the second recount by 42 votes, Democrats called it a "tie."

And now that Gregoire has an eight vote lead, the Democrats have confidently declared "victory."

Stefan Sharkansky has a good look at what statistics show is the likely the real, unadulterated count. Feel free to check out the rest of his blog, he's documented all sorts of questionable ballot "counting" practices in Democrat-dominated King County.
