Fahrenhype 9/11: Netflix was finally able to come up with a copy of the documentary fisking of America-hater Michael Moore's propaganda piece. I watched it last night and it's definitely a worthwhile time to spend your evening. The film features a couple of individuals who were stealthily interviewed and inserted into Moore's screed without their knowledge. It really says something about a "documentary" filmmaker when they know they can't show their face in certain places and do the filming themselves and instead send their "people" to do it for them.
One of my favorite lines in the movie was in response to Michael Moore's insertion into his film of Attorney General John Ashcroft singing. I don't recall who said it, but the gist was that if you're a public figure who appears on TV a lot, then it's easy to make them appear as anything you want through creative editing. He said that if he wanted to he could make Michael Moore appear to be a patriotic anorexic with just a little editing.
