A note on the Amazon ads: I've chosen to display current events titles in the Amazon box. Unfortunately, Amazon appears to promote a disproportionate number of angry-left books. I have no power over it at this time. Rest assured, I'm still a conservative.

Colin Powell on the Roadmap: Secretary of State Colin Powell made appearances on both "Meet the Press" and "This Week." On both shows, Powell dismissed the fact that the last prime minister, and likely the next prime minister, of the Palestinian Authority was handpicked by Yasser Arafat -- a man Powell said had repeatedly demonstrated that he was not interested in pursuing peace.

Think about the logic of this. Would the United States government, and the State Department bureaucracy, have passed on invading Iraq had Saddam Hussein just nominated a new prime minister? If that prime minister then failed to account for all of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction and, under pressure from Hussein and the United Nations, resigned. Would we have given Saddam another chance?

Obviously not.

Nope, I don't understand why the administration's logic is inconsistent when it comes to Israel and Palestine vs. every other part of the world. That's obviously above my pay grade.
